The short version

Menumo is in pilot. We collect the information you give us when you sign up and operate your business in the app, plus the data your POS sends us if you connect one. We use it to run Menumo and to generate the AI insights you ask for. We do not sell your data. You can email kai@menumo.net to delete your account or your data at any time.

What we collect

  • Account information — email, name, and profile data we receive from Clerk when you sign up or sign in.
  • Business information — what you enter in onboarding (truck or restaurant name, type, cuisine, city, goals).
  • Operating data — menu items, prices, inventory levels, sales, and any data your POS forwards to us if you connect Square, Clover, or upload a spreadsheet.
  • AI prompts and responses — when you ask Menumo to generate insights or copy, we send the relevant context to our AI provider (Anthropic) and store the result so you can see it again.
  • Usage and device data — basic logs (page visits, error reports, browser type, IP) that we use to keep the service healthy.

How we use it

  • To run Menumo for you — show your dashboard, your menu, your sales.
  • To generate AI insights, recommendations, and marketing copy when you request them.
  • To keep the service secure and working — debug errors, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
  • To contact you about your account, billing, or important service updates. We will not spam you.

Who we share with

We use a small number of trusted vendors to run Menumo. They only receive the data they need to do their job:

  • Clerk — sign-in, session management, and account security.
  • Anthropic — processes AI prompts you submit, then returns the result. Anthropic does not train on Menumo customer data per their commercial terms.
  • Vercel — hosts the application.
  • Neon — hosts the Postgres database where your account and operating data are stored.
  • Square / Clover — only if you connect a POS, and only the data they expose via their official APIs.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We will only disclose data when legally required to do so, and we will tell you unless we are prohibited from doing so.

Where data is stored

Your data is stored in the United States on Neon Postgres and on Vercel infrastructure. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.

Cookies and similar tech

We use cookies set by Clerk to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. If we add product analytics later, we will update this policy and tell you in-app.

Your choices

  • Access or correct your data — most data is visible in the app and editable in Settings. Email kai@menumo.net if you need help.
  • Delete your data or your account — email kai@menumo.net and we will delete your account and your business data, typically within 7 days. Some backups may persist for up to 30 days.
  • Disconnect a POS— you can revoke access in your POS provider’s dashboard at any time.

Children

Menumo is for businesses and the people who run them. It is not designed for or directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page if we change how we handle data. If a change is material, we will notify you in-app or by email before it takes effect.
